ODENTON, MD — One Marylander just made the win of a lifetime after picking up a Powerball ticket that's now worth $1 million following Wednesday's drawing.
The winning numbers for Wednesday's drawing were 30, 36, 40, 42 and 57. The Powerball was 2. Nobody matched all six numbers to win the $663 million jackpot.
To win $1 million, a player must match all five white balls without the Power Play option.
The Powerball ticket was sold Tuesday at the Royal Farms on 1558 Annapolis Road in Odenton. The winner has 182 days to claim their fortune.
"The $1 million win in Anne Arundel County last night is the largest Powerball prize in Maryland during the current jackpot roll, which began after the jackpot was last won on May 2," reads a release from the lottery.
As there was no jackpot winner Wednesday night, the winnings have now increased to an estimated annuity value of $707 million. The estimated cash option comes up to $309.7 million.
The next Powerball drawing will be held Saturday.
Powerball tickets, which cost $2, are available in Maryland at gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores. The deadline to buy tickets for Saturday's drawing is 10 p.m.
The last time a Maryland player won the Powerball jackpot was on Jan. 20, 2021, when a $731.1 million ticket was claimed.
Maryland has had three jackpot winners since 2003. Together, they claimed jackpots totalling $968.7 million.
