SEVERN, MD — Two residents from Dundalk are facing felony charges after a Thursday traffic stop in Severn led to the discovery of illicit drugs.
Anne Arundel County Police said Friday that the traffic stop occurred near a residential community in the 1200 block of Reece Road.
Inside the vehicle, officers encountered 23-year-old Ronald Anthony Sanders and 21-year-old Cheyenne Maria Lazo.
Along with the two Baltimore County residents, investigators uncovered packaging materials, a stack of cash, a digital scale, and what officials suspected was cocaine during a search of the vehicle.
Police did not say what prompted the traffic stop. They did, however, say Sanders and Lazo were arrested after the search.
Court records show the pair are each facing three drug-related charges, including the felony possession with intent to distribute offense.
Lazo and Sanders were both released on their own recognizance and have preliminary hearings booked for Nov. 4 and Nov. 30, respectively.
