Annapolis Man Faces Attempted Murder Charges In Hanover Shooting

A 22-year-old Annapolis man has been charged with attempted murder and assault after engaging in an altercation at a Hanover nightclub.

HANOVER, MD — Anne Arundel County officers responded to a report of gunshots fired Aug. 28 at 1:10 a.m. in the area of the Cancun Cantina at 7501 Old Telegraph Rd. in Hanover. Officers discovered a large crowd of people gathered outside the business who had fled from inside after shots were fired during an assault.

While officers were at the scene, they received information about an adult male victim being treated at the hospital for a non-life threatening sharp force injury. The victim admitted to being assaulted and injured during the incident at Cancun Cantina. Officers also learned that vehicles parked near Cancun Cantina were damaged by bullets.

Officers eventually identified the suspect accused of firing the weapon and arrested him on Aug. 29. Eric Craig Brown Jr., 22, of Annapolis, was charged with attempted first degree murder, attempted second degree murder, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree, having a loaded handgun, having a handgun, reckless endangerment and firearm use/felony in a violent crime.
