Annapolis Teen Charged in Severn Thefts; 2 Suspects Sought

Anne Arundel County Police say three people were stealing from cars in the Severn area Saturday morning.

SEVERN, MD — An Annapolis teenager is under arrest for stealing from cars in the Severn area over the weekend, while Anne Arundel County Police search for two more suspects.

A resident called police just before 4 a.m. Saturday to report suspects were tampering with vehicles in the area of Heathermist Drive and Severn Tree Boulvard in Severn. The resident reportedly saw three suspects rummaging through two parked cars in the area.

As officers searched the area they saw the suspects, who fled on foot when they spotted the police. After a foot chase, one of the suspects was located and arrested, while two of the suspects got away. Investigators say the suspects took an undetermined amount of cash and a watch from the vehicles.

The suspect who was arrested and charged as a juvenile is a 17-year-old boy from President Street in Annapolis.

The two other suspects are described as wearing a grey, hooded jacket and dark-colored pants; the officers couldn't determine if the suspects were boys or girls.
