The Arundel High School Music Department returned from the "Weekend in the Parks" competition held April 25-26 in Williamsburg, Va., with six awards and a special recognition award.
The Arundel High School Orchestra not only captured first place in the large school category, it also captured the trophy as being the orchestra of all the 12 orchestras competing in Williamsburg. Also taking first place honors were the Arundel Chamber Choir which won the best in category (out of... six AA schools), and the Arundel Jazz Band - best in category out of five schools.
The Arundel concert choir took a second place trophy for their efforts in Category AA (out of six schools) and the Arundel concert band earned a third place trophy out of seven schools competing in the same category.

Finally, a special recognition awards was presented to sophomore Ricky Jefferson for his work as a student accompanist for the choir.
