Severn Athletic Club’s 8U Baseball team won the Cal Riken 8U Kid Pitch Maryland State Championship recently held in Urbana, MD. The Jimy Ark coached team is primarily a machine pitch squad and was a late entry into the kid pitch tournament. Playing against another county squad, Annapolis, the Severn A.C. team was down an early 5-0 deficit. With all of the Annapolis squads runs coming in the top of the first the Severn Baseball team settled down to shut out Annapolis the rest of the way, with the Severn club going onto a 15-5 championship win. Their next stop is the Cal Ripken Mid-Atlantic Regionals being held in Rome, N.Y.
