Baltimore Motorcyclist Killed In Severn Crash

A Baltimore man died when his motorcycle crashed into a utility pole in Severn, police say.

SEVERN, MD — A Baltimore man died when his motorcycle crashed into a utility pole in Severn, Anne Arundel County Police say. The fatal accident happened about 6:30 p.m. Monday on Quarterfield Road near Janet Dale Lane.

Investigators say a 1988 Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Jeffrey Michael King, 32, of the 900 block of Wicklow Road in Baltimore, was northbound on Quarterfield Road when King lost control and struck a utility pole.

Authorities say King was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with critical injuries, where he died. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The preliminary cause of the crash was failing to remain in a single lane. It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the wreck.
