Bank Robbery Suspect Found at Maryland Live! Casino: Police

An Upper Marlboro man is charged with robbing a Wells Fargo Bank in Hanover, and then heading to Maryland Live! Casino, police say.

HANOVER, MD — A Prince George's County man reportedly robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Hanover Saturday, then took his illegally obtained cash to Maryland Live! casino, where police arrested him.

Anne Arundel County Police officers say the Wells Fargo Bank at 7568 Ridge Road in Hanover was robbed about 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Witnesses said that a man entered the bank, approached a teller, implied he had a weapon, and handed over a note stating a robbery. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of cash and then he fled the scene in a black Chevrolet with Virginia tags.

Several officers responded and began searching the area. An officer located a vehicle matching the description of one driven by the robbery suspect parked in the garage of the Maryland Live! casino.

The suspect — John Edward Bush Jr., 54, of Upper Marlboro — was located and identified as the subject from the bank robbery. He was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery, robbery, and theft between $1,000 and $10,000.
