Bear's Honeypot Sets July 21 for Grand Opening

The new store for local producers will celebrate with a barbecue, door prizes and a live band.

Bear's Honeypot will be open for business in the next few weeks, offering a and other products.

The store will celebrate a grand opening on July 21 beginning at noon, according to a press release. Events include a barbecue, live band and door prizes. 

Bear's Honeypot will be located in the Stone Circle Complex near the roundabout at Odenton Road. The store will sell cheese, jams, yogurt, milk, eggs, pastas and other products, all from local, independent producers.

Store owner Barret Lang began working with local producers at farmers markets in Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia. He will continue to assist selling local products there in addition to running the store, and hopes to start a Community Supported Agriculture Program next year, he said. 

Lang said he hopes to donate a portion of all sales to local schools and to help save the polar bears.
