Best of Winner: Orchard Cafe for Breakfast

Readers of Odenton and Severn Patch named the best spot for breakfast in the area, based on votes, comments and reviews.

The small restaurant in Piney Orchard earned praise from readers for its "mom & pop" feel and good, friendly service from owners Julie and Jun Park.

I stopped in for breakfast at the Orchard Cafe Friday morning and had a short stack of pancakes, an egg over easy and a sausage patty. The walls were adorned with hundreds of big photos featuring smiling customers, many of whom I recognized from around town.

The cafe was busy with regulars, as waitress Young Woo cheerfully filled cups of coffee and engaged in some playful banter.

Owner Julie Park said she and her husband have owned the business for six years, and have a loyal customer base for breakfast. Popular favorites include the vegetable omelet, chipped beef, pancakes and french toast.

"I like to cook, and it's all from my family, so I know it's good," Park said.
