Big Games, A Fundraiser and a 10K

Playoff Basketball – The MPSSAA State basketball tournaments start Friday evening, with the Arundel boys hosting Old Mill at 7 p.m. The Arundel girls begin their effort for a repeat state title on Saturday after, also against Old Mill, with the time to be announced.

Championship Wrestling - The best wrestlers in the area face off beginning tomorrow afternoon. Logan Reece and Tyler Goodwin of Arundel High are among those shooting for titles and a chance to continue onto states. Action at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia starts at 4p.m.

Show Your Love for the Animals Fundraiser – Country Feed and the Covenant Cottage country store will raise funds for Cheryl’s Rescue Ranch in Gambrills. Come by and donate to help the ranch, which offers a home to unwanted and neglected farm animals. Refreshments will be served. Fundraiser goes from 5-8 p.m. at 865 Annapolis Road, Gambrills.

40 Dollar Fine at Perry’s – Come to the heart of Odenton and listen to some rootsy rock, alt-country and blues. Music goes from 9 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. and there is no cover charge.

Patuxent River Trail 10k – So what if it snowed this week? Winter is nearing its end, so it’s time to get outside. Join the Quantico Orienteering Club on this run to support the conservation efforts of Patuxent River Park in Upper Marlboro. Race day registration is $30. Packet pickup begins a 9 a.m. and the race starts at 10 a.m. And don’t worry… the race is sponsored by an orienteering club, but they promise no maps or compasses will be required.
