Let's just get this out of the way: I AM NOT A RAVENS FAN. I know that was probably hard for you to read, but it's something you're going to have to accept. See, I'm a Jersey girl, which I'm sure is just equally hard for you to believe given my demure demeanor. (Insert hardy laugh here.) My next-door-neighbor played on the '86 Super Bowl Team (we're Facebook friends!). My dad used to get tickets to one Giants game a year and take me and a friend. I didn't live far from Giants Stadium. I still have the pennant from the '86 NFL Eastern Division Championship game on my wall (see picture.) You get the idea.
So, living in Maryland where just about everyone (except for my two best friends who are Redskin fans) is a Ravens fan is hard for a Giants fan like me. Purple Fridays get ignored in our house and when my daughter comes home trying to tell me she's "a Ravens fan now" I did what any parent would do: washed her mouth out with soap and sent her to a room with a video of the '86 Super Bowl. Ok, only half of that is true. Ok, none of it is true but I did tell her there were no Ravens fans in this house. (Dad is a New Englander and a Pats fan.)

You've gotta respect fans who are so dedicated and so excited about their team. I admire your enthusiasm Ravens fans, I really do. And even though I want to defriend all of my friends who are Ravens fans during football season, I don't. I put up with your "Caw, Caws" and your "Ray RIIIIIIIIIIIIICE" status updates because I love your love of the game.

So good luck to the blue AND the purple today. Maybe we'll meet again in the big game next month.
P.S. GO G-MEN!
