Finding the Time for Yourself

Don't let your own health and well being be neglected!

I am sorry it's been so long since I have last checked in!  As is often the case for so many of us, things have become hectic and finding a minute to sit down and write has become a challenge.

I mention this because I know it happens to all of us. The school year has begun so the kids take front and center. New school clothes purchased. Check. Supplies acquired. Check. Countless emergency contact forms completed. Check.
It is a bit of a daunting task at times!

Once the school year begins it is often hard to find time for yourself again. Evenings become packed with homework, dinner, and variouis sports practices (GORC football is going well, by the way :).

As parents it is good to put the kids needs in the forefront, but remember that you cannot take care of anyone else if you don't take care of yourself first. It seems cliche, but realistically....if YOU are frazzled, stressed and exhausted, how much can you really be of any use to your family?

It's okay to readjust your priorities on occasion.  Just remember that YOU need to take care of YOU. Even if you can't commit to as much "me" time as you have been able to previously, you must make sure you find SOME time to refocus and re-energize.

So, when it's an easy homework night, or the kids have konked out earlier than usual, make the most of those unexpected opportunities to do something for yourself.
