Finding the Time to Give Back

As school starts up we are often asked to participate in the parent/teacher/school associations and we often ask, just where are we going to fit that in too??

As the school year kicks off and Back to School Nights are on our calendars, we are often asked to sign up for different programs that the PTA/PTO/HSA are putting on throughout the year. Not to mention, the hours the teachers would love to have our help in the classroom if we're able to give it.  (PTA = Parent Teacher Association, PTO = Parent Teacher Organization, HSA = Home School Association).

Your schools PTA/PTO/HSA needs you. They need any amount of time you can give. There may be an issue that you feel passionate about that has a direct impact on the school and you can lead a letter writing campaign or you can give an hour here and there to organize paperwork for them for a fundraiser.

It's all about time management and giving back. We all squeeze in things here and there, you can add this small thing in too. Why not reach out to them? Join your PTA/PTO/HSA and get involved in the school your child attends. You will be pleasantly surprised when your child gets older and says "Remember when you did ... for the PTA?"  Trust me, it makes a difference.
