First They Were Two..Now We Have One Great Local Business!

I can’t tell you how happy I am to find out that two of my favorite places have combined forces and come up with a great new local business! 

Country Feed, Garden and Pet ltd, will undergo not only a name change beginning October 1. While still doing business at 865 Annapolis Rd, Gambrills, MD, the store will unveil its new floor plan and business model. Country Feed and Garden owners, Wendy and Chuck Kinsey approached Janet Garman, former co-owner of Covenant Cottage Gift Shop, about joining forces with them in their plan to transform into a general store. Combining their shared love of the local community and bringing fresh ideas and proven favorites to their customers will surely be a breath of fresh air in our community.

Please allow me to introduce Gambrills General Store……
The store will still carry all the Purina Feeds and livestock needs that it always has. Birdseed and backyard bird feeders will still be a large part of the retail offering as will the popular propane tank refill service. The store plans to increase the garden supply, hand tools, hardware and pet supplies. In the gifts and home section, Gambrills General Store will delight shoppers with locally made jams and jellies, dip mixes, hot sauce and more. Looking for a great addition to your cookware? Try
the new Lodge brand cast iron fryers, stock pots and griddles. Donna Sharp
purses and totes and Beanpod Candles, favorites from Covenant Cottage, will be
carried at Gambrills General Store.

Take a trip back in time and visit the new candy counter, or grab an ice cream
treat from the freezer. Whatever brings you in; you will be treated like an old
friend. Whether it's your first visit or your weekly stock up trip, staff at
Gambrills General Store will be happy to assist you. As the holiday season
gears up, remember to shop Gambrills General Store for gifts for the people and
animals in your life. Need a birthday party gift for your son or daughter's
friend? Visit the newly expanded toy department for a varied array of classic
and eco-friendly, parent approved play things. Free gift wrapping is available
upon request. With everything from goat feed to goat hand lotions and soaps,
Gambrills General Store will be looking forward to your next visit. The store
is open now, with a planned Fall Festival and Grand re-opening celebration
planned for October 22 from 9 am to 4 pm. Regular hours are Monday through
Friday 8 a.m. to 6 pm. Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

When I heard about the Gambrills General Store coming to our town I have to
tell you I was really excited! When I was growing up on the north side of Pittsburgh, we (all the kids in the neighborhood) would walk every day up to the local general store and buy penny candy and ice cold coke in small glass bottles. After all these years we now will have this quaint country store right here in Gambrills!
