Flat Archie: Journey with a Kindred Wildcat

The grandest adventures include a kindred spirit…or kindred wildcat.

The weather is warming, the buds are blooming, and adventure is calling. For those of us who have just recently returned from spring break, it has but whetted our appetites for the summer to come.  For your next adventure, I’d like to suggest a stowaway.  The grandest adventures include a kindred spirit…or kindred wildcat.

Many of you in the West County area are familiar with “Archie,” Arundel’s wildcat mascot.  Fewer of you are likely familiar with “Flat Archie” the mascot of Arundel’s “Glocal” Signature Program.  Flat Archie, a cousin of Flat Stanley was born last summer and has since traveled as far away as Brazil, Russia, and Japan. He has hitchhiked with students, parents, and teachers on various adventures and is a constant reminder to our Signature students that the wildcat spirit is expansive and indefatigable.

Flat Archie need not go abroad, however, to enjoy an adventure.  He is just as content in students’ backyards and community spaces.

So whether you are vacationing or stay-cationing , deck the break with Friends and Follies and consider taking a basic or bedazzled Flat Archie along for the journey.  We’d love to see how far a wildcat can roam.
