GOP Presidential Primary Thoughts
A look at the race so far to win the GOP nomination.

The GOP presidential primary season kicked off a few months ago with a sees-aw effect of who can challenge frontrunner Mitt Romney to win the republican ticket to run against President Barrack Obama. Texas Governor Rick Perry came into the game late but fully charged; but has fallen aside after getting picked apart in debates and in the media. Romney has endured the same attacks for some time now. Falling off the ladder in the last month was Congresswoman Michelle Bachman. Bachman came into the game with a lot of spotlight, but has since fallen in the poles. She hopes she can reenergize her name back onto the leader board, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that taking place.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is still hanging around despite some early primary season gaffes he could have done without. Gingrich is sly enough to get back onto the leader board while simply just pushing an agenda for smaller government. Congressman Ron Paul, the liberty candidate once again has the same liberty caucus supporters he had 4 years ago that kept him in the news and getting a crowd of supporters. Other candidates include former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson as well as former Senator from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum. Those three are hanging on by a thread and may be putting their names out there for future positions in elected office if not cabinet positions.

There is one other primary candidate many so-called-experts thought wouldn’t generate energy however those critics are puzzled as to why he is sticking around. That candidate is none other than Herman Cain.

Cain is the former CEO of Godfathers Pizza, as well as CEO of The National Restaurant Association among other successful jobs he has held over the years. Cain just will not go away by telling it like it is with common sense thoughts and simple answers the public can relate to. The former civilian mathematician with the US Navy before his business career, often states he grew up poor and his family was hard working and smart when it came to spending. His work ethic comes from his father he states, having watched his father work 3 jobs and never complained, staying focused as a family man who needed to provide for his family at all times. Cain was instrumental in 1994 defeating President Bill Clinton’s healthcare bill when he was with National Restaurant Association.
There is no crystal ball to peak into and predict who the winner will become mid-2012 and emerge as the candidate to take on President Barrack Obama. At this time if you pinned me down and demanded an answer the name would be Mitt Romney, but keep your eye on Herman Cain. Rick Perry was thought to be the one to generate the steam to defeat Romney, but as you see his desperation attacks on Romney failing I wouldn’t bet on Perry winning.
The Republicans hope a clear leader will emerge after the New Hampshire primary and other state primaries following shortly after. It will be exciting to see who will be the true leader to defeat President Obama in November 2012.
