Mexican Food, Plants & Produce, A Hang Out with History.....

Gina's Cantina - 722 Generals Hwy, Millersville- If you have driven by a house that says Gina's, it's not only a nice watering hole, but they have fabulous mexican food!  The decor is a little out there and different but a really fun place to hang out.  They have an outdoor area where kids can play in the sand with dump trucks, etc.  Picnic tables are inside so it is a very casual environment.  $2 for 2 soft or hard tacos, the salads are big enough for 2 people. Salsa and guacamole is fresh. Great place to go hang out on a Saturday afternoon. The bartender, Frankie is welcoming, friendly and a back bone of this business!

Georges Local Plants & Produce -1439 Defense Hwy, Gambrills - I love this place.  Hanging baskets are the largest and cheapest that I have been able to find.  $25 for a large hanging basket and they have a large array of other plants. They have fresh fruit and vegetables from local farmers that are priced very well.  I didn't venture into the statues and fountains but if that is what you need, I am sure they will have the design! 

  - Tim has written about this historic Odenton place before but I thought I would go by there to check it out from a female perspective. This is another place I drove by and wasn't so sure... However, it is all the good things Tim said about it!  If you like "the good ole boys and girls" this is the place to go try. Everyone is super-friendly and holds conversations with you regardless if they know you or not. There is a lot of history here, and one thing I thought was unheard of, Mr. Murphy used to put food out for his patrons every Friday and Sunday in case they had not had dinner. The "regulars" of this establishment are very worried about the future of Buck Murphy's. Mr. Murphy's wife passed away and he is not doing well. They hope business will improve so his children can run it. Drinks are a good price, VERY laid back environment with TV's and games.  This is a place to go "shoot the bull" - you may have to include some of the old residents in your conversations; but what stories they have to tell.
