Things Are Changing Around Piney Orchard

Pools are opening and change is happening around PO

I attended my first board meeting as a resident  in more than three years on Monday night. I have to admit, it was a bit strange sitting in the audience and not at the table but it was kind of nice not having the pressure of hours of preparation time required to make informative decisions at the meeting.

At the meeting I learned that the roundabout by the Market Place will be replaced soon and it will look exactly like the original one.  Also, the West Court Monument will be fixed by June 30. The delays were because of the insurance companies dragging their feet. Not surprising right?

A new property management company will take over on August 1, 2011.  CMC is part of the Associa family and manages 152 communities in the DC Metro area.  They also manage Seven Oaks down the street.

The community center pool will be open this weekend and the other two pools will open on Memorial Day weekend! Can you believe it?? Summer is just around the corner and I for one am ready for it!  Mostly because it's swim team season and there's nothing like a swim meet on a Saturday morning and watching the swimmers have a great time!

Congratulations are in order for Michelle LeBlanc. She was appointed to the Board of Directors as Treasurer until April of 2012 replacing Debbie Roebuck. There is one more opening on the Board if you're interested. I recommend getting involved if you have the time.

If you have been by the Island Pool, the shade structure has been installed over the play area. Which is great news because the days are starting to get really warm and  there's nothing worse than sitting on a hot slide and burning your ...

The meeting moved pretty quickly. I was able to stop at Subway on the way home and have dinner at a decent hour.  I'll try to do this every month for those who can't attend the meeting.
