Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Las Vegas. I mean, I really love it. I love the lights, the sound of the slot machines, the glitz, the glamour, everything. Where else can you walk down a street and visit Paris, Venice, New York and Egypt all in one day? There's a reason why The Hangover takes place in Vegas, because it's the only place you can steal Mike Tyson's tiger...
I bring up Sin City because I am going there on Sunday for a photography conference and trade show. And in this case, what happens in Vegas will probably be Facebooked, blogged, and Tweeted.
I started going to Vegas in 1999 with my younger brother. And it was wild. I'll spare you the details because, well, this is a family publication and my mother might be reading this. But let's just say we had an awesome time. I went back every year with my bro or with friends and eventually with my fiance and now my husband. I even celebrated my 40th birthday there last year.

Each trip has been different as my life has grown and changed. Staying up all night (literally) has become barely making it until midnight. Eating greasy food in the food court is now a reservation at one of the the hottest restaurants in town. Frying myself in the sun by the pool is now finding new experiences like Vegas Indoor Skydiving. Sitting in front of a video poker machine (alone) for hours, well, that pretty much hasn't changed. (I still love it).
I guess what I'm trying to say is, that the city hasn't changed much, but I sure have. I'm married, I have two kids and I'm 13 years older than I was on my first trip. But each time I go back, I find something new about it. I don't have to stay out late or get drunk or even dance to have a great time. There's no pressure to party because, well, I've already done it. One of the best meals I've ever had was last year. Our little group had brunch at Bouchon in the Venetian. Not only was the food amazing, but the company was even better. We had the best time and our waiter invited us to take a private tour of the kitchen. It was, in a word, "perfect."
