Cardin, Ruppersberger Meet With County Democrats
Members of Congress attended the Democratic Unity Rally last week in Millersville.
The following story was submitted by Pat Simons of the 33rd District Democratic Club.
Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Rep. C.A. “Dutch” Ruppersberger (D-District 2) were among the speakers at the Democratic Unity Rally held on Wednesday, May 16. Sponsored by the AA County Democratic Clubs and the Anne Arundel County Democratic Central Committee, the event featured Cardin, Ruppersberger, Anne Arundel County Councilman Pete Smith (D-District 4) and a number of other Democratic elected officials and civic leaders who spoke and mingled with the standing-room only crowd at the IAFF Banquet Hall in Millersville.
Event organizers planned the rally as a venue for Democratic representatives, candidates and activists to gather and discuss plans for the upcoming election.

“The members of our Democratic Clubs in Anne Arundel County are very committed and active in local and national elections. We wanted to provide an evening where folks from across the county could come together and share their enthusiasm for our president, our Democratic representatives in Congress, and the upcoming election,” said Bill Flook, one of the evening’s organizers.
