Charges Filed in 'Upskirt' Photos at Gambrills Safeway
Police say a Crofton man used his cell phone to take pictures under a woman's skirt as she shopped at the grocery store.

GAMBRILLS, MD — A Crofton man was charged with two sex offenses after he allegedly took “upskirt” photos of a woman at the Gambrills Safeway store, police say.
The incident was reported about 5:30 p.m. Monday at the grocery store at 2644 Chapel Lake Drive.
The victim -- a 43-year-old Gambrills woman – told Anne Arundel County Police that while she was shopping in Safeway, a man approached her. The suspect reached under her skirt with a cell phone in his hand, and appeared to take pictures with the phone.

The suspect – later identified as Richard Oakley David, 35, of 1795 Roxboro Place in Crofton -- was detained as he was leaving the store.
Police seized his cell phone as evidence. After conferring with the State’s Attorney’s Office, two charges of peeping tom/prurient intent were filed against David.

The victim was not injured during this incident, police said.
