Commuters Face Changes on Monday

Adjustments to MARC schedules and bus services begin this week.

Commuters in Odenton will face a series of possible changes when they head to work Monday morning. 

The MARC Penn Line will begin its , which features seven additional trains serving Odenton, including express train from Washington, D.C. to Odenton. The schedule features two new trains heading southbound to Washington during the morning rush hour and two additional evening trains northbound from Washington. 

In response to the new MARC schedule, Fort Meade has adjusted the schedule of its shuttle bus from the MARC station to the Army base. The first shuttle will depart the train station at 6:20 a.m. and make three stops on base, ending at the new headquarters of the Defense Information Systems Agency at 6:40 a.m.

The shuttle will depart the MARC station every 20-25 minutes, with the last morning bus departing at 8:52 a.m.

Service picks up again just before 3 p.m., with the last bus picking up at DISA at 6:20 p.m. Click here for a full schedule of the Fort Meade/MARC bus.

A new bus connecting Piney Orchard residents to the MARC station will Monday, with 16 stops in the community. The bus will circulate six times in the morning and six times in the evening, and will be timed to allow rail commuters to catch Penn Line trains to Washington and Baltimore.
