Copper Thief Caught On BGE Site In Odenton: Police
A Cecil County man is charged with trying to steal copper wire from a BGE site in Odenton, police say.

ODENTON, MD — A Cecil County man was arrested early Thursday for allegedly trying to steal copper wire from a BGE site in Odenton, police say. Anne Arundel County Police received a call about 2 a.m. of a theft in progress at the BGE Piney Orchard Service Center, 730 New Waugh Chapel Road in Odenton.
The tipster told police he saw a man removing copper wire from the utility complex. Officers spotted a man fitting the suspect description running from the property and found 338 feet of copper wire, according to a news release.
Ryan Scott Sherwood, 25, of Northeast, was arrested and charged with burglary and related offenses, police say.
