December Events at O'Malley Senior Center

There's a wide range activities coming up at the O'Malley Senior Activity in Odenton, including some holiday concerts.

Here's what's happening:

Holiday Concerts

• On Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m., the South County Showstoppers! will perform. The group was recently contacted by the NBC show "America's Got Talent" to provide possible acts for auditions.
• "Voices of Melody" will perform on Dec. 8 at 12:30 p.m.
• On Dec. 9 at 12:45 p.m. there will be concert featuring homeschooled children. There will be homemade snicker doodle cookies and candy canes available.
• On Dec. 14 at 12:30 p.m., Harpist Heidi Sturnilio will perform holiday music from around the world.

Grief and Bereavement Talk

On Dec. 8 at 10:30 a.m., magazine columnist Ryan Helfenbein will give a talk on "Holiday Help" for those dealing with grief and bereavement during the holidays.

Safe Driving Course

The four-hour course from AARP will be held on Dec. 21 from 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The course is designed for seniors to learn defensive driving, adjust to hearing and vision loss and deal with agressive drivers. It costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Call 410-222-6227 to register. Auto insruance discounts may be available.

Special Holiday Event at Doubletree Hotel

The O'Malley and South County Senior Activity Centers will host a "Holiday Blitz" party on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a live band, food, dancing and a cash bar, as well as more than 20 door prizes. Call 410-222-6227 for reservations. Tickets are $20.
