Denny's Looks to Open Restaurant on Annapolis Road
The restaurant is in talks with county planners about opening at the corner of Annapolis Road and Dare Street.

The Odenton Town Center could be the next home of the Grand Slam breakfast.
Denny’s is in talks with Anne Arundel County planners about the possibility of opening a restaurant at the corner of Annapolis Road and Dare Street, across from the Odenton MARC station.
The Odenton Town Center Plan Oversight Committee reviewed the plans for the new restaurant on Tuesday night. Committee members said they were prepared to recommend approval of the proposal, with some conditions to ensure the project complied with the Odenton Town Center Master Plan.

Mike Fox, a county planner involved in projects in Odenton, said he has been in talks with Denny’s architecture firm, Cortland Morgan. The restaurant would seat about 160 people in more than 4,000 square feet.
“They know the market, they know the people coming here, they know the lack of restaurants,” Fox said.

Committee members recommended that the restaurant be two stories instead of one, and said they would like the developer to shield the restaurant’s parking area with either a wall or shrubs.
The Odenton Town Center Master Plan technically does not allow for parking along Dare Street, but committee members said they’d be willing to recommend a waiver.
“These guys will make a killing,” committee chairman Donald Price said. “There’s no doubt in my mind, if they get in here quick enough.”
Denny's will likely present more detailed plans to the committee before the county Office of Planning and Zoning considers final approval.
