Detective Airifted, 3 Civilians Hurt In Millersville Crash: Police
A detective was airlifted and three civilians were hurt in a Millersville crash, police said. Three vehicles were involved in the wreck.

MILLERSVILLE, MD — Police announced that a detective was airlifted to a hospital and that three adult civilians were hurt Monday in a Millersville crash. Officials expect everybody to survive, but officers are now investigating the cause of the three-vehicle wreck.
The accident happened around 8:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 97 near Maryland Route 32. A 2015 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck was slowing down or stopped in front of a 2018 Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUV. A 2015 Volvo D13 semi-truck then approached the vehicles from behind.
Authorities said the tractor-trailer did not stop and ran into the back of the unmarked police SUV. The collision then pushed the SUV into the pick-up truck.

Certified inspectors examined the semi-truck on the scene. The results, which are still pending, will reveal any potential mechanical failures or driver errors. Investigators don't think alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department asked witnesses to call (410) 222-8082.
