Diverted Southwest Flight From BWI Airport Lands Safely In Maine

A Southwest Airlines flight from BWI Airport was reportedly diverted and later landed safely in Maine.

HANOVER, MD — A Southwest Airlines flight from Baltimore Washington International Airport was diverted to Manchester-Boston International Airport in Manchester, New Hampshire, on Monday reportedly due to a flap issue, according to alerts online. However, the plane has safely landed in Portland, Maine.

WCSH-TV 6 in Maine was the first to break the news on Twitter at around 11:50 a.m. on April 3.

Southwest flight 1658 from BWI landed safely at Portland shortly after noon Monday, the Maine airport said via Twitter.

The alert stated that officials at the Portland International Jetport confirmed the diverted flight.

About 15 minutes later, however, officials at the Portland International Jetport reported that the flight was safely on the ground in Maine.
