Driver Freed From Cargo Van In Rollover Crash

A man was extricated from a cargo van after in rolled multiple times on Interstate 97, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.

MILLERSVILLD, MD — Anne Arundel County firefighters freed a driver trapped when his cargo van rolled on Interstate 97 Monday afternoon. The single-vehicle crash happend about 5:30 p.m. near I-97 and Route 32, the fire department said.

Callers to 911 reported that a cargo van had rolled over multiple times and had come to rest on the guardrail in the median strip of I-97. Firefighters found the van resting on its driver side on the guardrail. The driver, who was the only person in the van, was trapped.

Firefighters extricated the 40-year-old man in about 25 minutes. He was taken by paramedics to the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with injuries that were serious, but not believed life-threatening.
