Driver in Critical Condition After Crashing into Tree, Not Wearing Seat Belt

Police say a Bowie man is at fault after crashing his vehicle into a tree Monday morning in Gambrills.

A Bowie man is in critical condition at Baltimore Shock Trauma after his vehicle crashed into a tree Monday morning in Gambrills.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department says a 2009 Toyota Tacoma driven by Karl Albert Demilo, 53, of Bowie, crashed about 9:30 a.m. on westbound Defense Highway near Huntwood Drive in Gambrills.

The vehicle came to a stop on its roof with the driver still inside the vehicle.

Demilo was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Investigators said driver error was the cause of the accident.
