The Maryland Renaissance Festival has become one of the area's premier events and the second largest Renaissance Festival in the country. Since the first season in 1977, the event has grown with more than 1,300 participants and more than 200,000 fair attendees. The English Tudor village features 25 acres of woods and fields.
