Placement of the Bethel Bell into the bell tower

Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church (NBUMC) is excited to invite everyone to a truly historic event.  The Nichols and the Bethel bells will both be ringing and housed at the same location. 

On May 20th at 10:30am both bells will ring at NBUMC.

The Bethel bell was a gift given to NBUMC  from First Evangelical Lutheran Church.  The bell had been owned by the lutherans since 1942 when they purchased the Bethel church.  Recently the Lutherans have added a new bell tower which has a new electronic music system. During this time of change for the lutheran church, the old bell which had hung in the church tower was given to NBUMC in Odenton. It essence, the bell has been returned to its original owner.

The inscription on the bell reads: "Bethel Memorial M.E. Church, Odenton MD, 1922."

The Bethel bell has been restored and is back home with its sister Nichols bell.
