Eviction Leads to Attempted Manslaughter Charge
Suspect accused of running over leasing office employees leg with her car — twice — and hitting deputy's gun belt with her side mirror, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
A woman is facing several charges, including attempted manslaughter, after an incident where she struck two people with her car on Thursday afternoon, according to Anne Arundel County Police.
Kalli Colleen Kassab, 25, of no fixed address, is charged with Attempted Manslaughter, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and several traffic charges.
At 1:17 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 6600 block of Shelly Road in Glen Burnie regarding a vehicular assault.
The victims, a 24-year-old civilian and a sheriff's deputy, told police that they were executing an eviction notice when Kassab became disorderly and was asked to leave.
As she was leaving, the suspect reportedly spat on an employee of the property. As she was backing out, she ran over the employee's leg, according to police. She then placed the car in drive and allegedly ran over the employee's leg again.
When the Sheriff's Deputy attempted to stop Kassab's vehicle, she allegedly pulled away, striking the deputy's gun belt with her side mirror.
The victim was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The deputy was not injured.
Kassab was eventually located by an officer at a Dollar Store on Ritchie Highway and taken into custody.
