Fight Over Parking Ends With Gun Charges
A fight over parking escalated to a threat with a handgun and the arrest of an Odenton man who is barred from possessing a gun, police said.
ODENTON, MD — A fight over parking sent one combatant in search of a handgun and ended with the arrest of the Odenton man, who is barred from possessing a gun, police said.
The dispute was reported about 8:20 p.m. Feb. 1 near Berger Street and Annapolis Road in Odenton, according to Anne Arundel County police.
Investigators said the victim fought with Michael Richard Ourand, 41, and Ourand threatened the victim, retrieved a handgun from his residence, and confronted the victim. The victim told officers that Ourand did not point the handgun at him during the dispute, a police news release said.

Officers determined Ourand was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. The firearm, an unserialized polymer 80 handgun, loaded with 12 rounds in a 30-round capacity magazine, was seized, and the suspect was arrested and charged with assault.
