Final Mass for Church of Holy Apostles in Gambrills

The Church of the Holy Apostles will join July 1 with St. Joseph-Odenton to create a new parish.

The last Mass to be celebrated at Church of the Holy Apostles in Gambrills will be this Sunday, June 8, before the parish joins with St. Joseph-Odenton to create a new parish.

The 10 a.m. service will be the only Mass said this Sunday at Church of the Holy Apostles.

Michele Dougherty, assistant to the pastor, Sunday’s service will be a remembrance and celebration of the parish’s proud past. The founding pastor, Fr. Michael Callaghan, will concelebrate the Mass with current pastor Fr. James Kiesel.

A family picnic will be held after the Mass at 1 p.m. on the grounds of the School of the Incarnation. 

Church of the Holy Apostles was founded on Oct. 1, 1999 (originally as the Waugh Chapel Mission Community) and has been celebrating Mass at the School of the Incarnation, 2601 Symphony Lane in Gambrills since August 2002.
