Five Nominated to Fill Chamber Board Positions

A nominating committee for the West Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce nominated five people to serve three-year terms on the board of directors. Four of the five nominees are existing board members.

The nominating committee for the West Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce has presented its slate of board members up for election in January.

The committee nominated five people to serve three-year terms on the board.

The nominees are:

  • Todd Popham, State Farm Insurance
  • Bryan LePage, The Columbia Bank
  • Trish Palumbo, Metropolitan Management Company
  • Michele Waits, A.J. Properties
  • Gary Haynes, Long and Foster - Next Step Partners

For all of the nominees except Haynes, this would be the second three-year term. Haynes is currently finishing the term of another board member who stepped down.

The chamber is still accepting nominations from its members. Any member can nominate another member by presenting a petition signed by 25 members by Nov. 21. Anyone wishing to present a petition is urged to call the chamber office.

If no petition is received, the five nominees above will be elected by acclamation at the next board of director's meeting on Dec. 15.

The chamber has also announced the following upcoming events:

Tuesday Topics Breakfast - On Nov. 29, the chamber will host Rob Norton, the general manager of the Maryland Live! development at Arundel Mills. Norton is expected to give an update on the progress of the casino project. 8 a.m. at Kaufmann's Restaurant in Gambrills. Cost is $20 for members, $30 for non-members.

Beyond BRAC Breakfast Brief - On Dec. 7, the chamber will hold a session to help members learn about opportunities associated with the growth at Fort Meade. No cost, members only. RSVP by calling 410-672-3422.

Holiday Open House - The chamber will open its doors from 3-6 p.m. on Dec. 20 to celebrate the holidays.
