Five Things: Playoffs, School Budget, Democrats

It looks like it will be a busy week. Here are five events that are worth checking out in the area.

When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where:

Details: The public will have another chance to comment on the county's proposed budget, including the budget for Anne Arundel County Public Schools. The County Council is currently considering the budget. 

When: Monday, 4 p.m.
Where:

Details: The Wildcats and Mustangs will face off in the state playoffs for a shot at the Class 4A regional final. Arundel edged Meade 6-5 during the regular season.

When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where:

Details: The Wildcats will look to continue their playoff run as they take on the Cougars in the Class 3A/4A east region semifinal.

Board of Education Meeting

When:  Wednesday, 7 p.m.
Where: 2644 Riva Rd., Annapolis

Details: The school board will meet to discuss several issues, including the renewal of the contract with the Chesapeake Science Point Public Charter School. The meeting is open to the public.

When: Wednesday, 6 p.m.
Where: IAFF Banquet Hall, 8684 Veteran’s Highway, Millersville

Details: Ten Democratic clubs in the area have organized a rally in support of party members seeking election or re-election. Invited speakers include U.S. Senators Barbara Mikulski and Ben Cardin, and local members of the House of Representatives.
