Here's a look at the key events happening this week.

It looks like it could be a slow week in news, but here are five things that might be worth checking out.
Anne Arundel County Council Meeting
When: Monday, 7 p.m.
Where: 44 Calvert St., Annapolis

Details: After drama involving an open council seat and the police chief, it appears that the council is getting back to some of the less interesting—but still very important—issues facing the county. Included in the agenda is a bill from council member Jamie Benoit (D-District 4) that would clarify how land categorized as "open space" can be used for recreation.

Where: Various locations
Details: If you haven't already taken advantage of early voting, stop by the polls on Tuesday. Republicans will vote on the party's nominee for president, while Democrats have a U.S. Senate race to consider. Check the Maryland State Board of Elections website if you're not sure where to vote.
When: Thursday-Sunday
Where: Area churches

Where: Baltimore, Bowie
Details: The Orioles open Friday at home against the Twins, while the Nationals travel to Chicago to play the Cubs on Thursday. If you can't make it to the big league parks, the on Thursday. Or, stop by , where they might be showing the games.

Where: Washington, DC
Details: Crofton native will perform at the Canon Performance Stage in Washington, DC, as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. The blossoms are gone early this year, but the weather is getting better and it's still a nice trip.
