5 Things: Council Meeting, Wrestling Highlight the Week
There are big meetings involving the county council and Piney Orchard Board, and the Severn River Association will talk about septic systems.

Monday is a holiday for many of us, but it's still a busy week in the area. Here are five events that may be worth dropping in on.
Piney Orchard Community Association (POCA) Board Meeting
When: Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.
Where: Piney Orchard Community Center

Details: The POCA board will hold its monthly meeting and is expected to have a full agenda. The meeting is open to Piney Orchard residents and there will be some time set aside for public comment.

When: Tuesday, 2 p.m.
Where: 44 Calvert St., Annapolis
Details: The council will resume its marathon of votes to determine who will fill the open seat for District 1. The council's regular meeting is scheduled to follow at 7 p.m.
When: Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
Where: Club Meade, Fort Meade
Details: The Defense Information School will host Joanne Martin, who co-founded the National Great Blacks In Wax Museum in Baltimore. The event is free and open to the public.
Regional High School Wrestling Tournament
When: Friday and Saturday
Where: Wilde Lake High School, Columbia.
Details: The top four teams from each weight class move on to the state tournament in College Park on March 2 and 3. Arundel High's Logan Reece and Tyler Goodwin will be among the favorites to advance.
Severn River Association Meeting
When: Tuesday, 7 p.m.
Where: Arlington Echo Outdoor Education Center, 975 Indian Landing Rd., Millersville.
Details: Septic systems and their impact on the health of the Severn River will be the big topic as the SRA hosts Ed Peters, Anne Arundel County Health Department.
