Football: South River Battles Arundel Friday Night
Local rivals hit the field in Edgewater, with varsity games kicking off a 6:30 p.m.

Last September, the South River High football team put a scare into rival Arundel, losing 31-30 after failing to pull off a two-point conversion in the final seconds.
The Seahawks will look to avenge that loss as they host the Wildcats in Edgewater on Friday night.
Varsity kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

South River (2-1) is coming off a 28-24 loss to Broadneck, and will need the win to avoid falling behind in the county standings.
Arundel, meanwhile, has looked impressive in its 3-0 start. On the offensive side, the Wildcats have enjoyed solid performances from quarterbacks Cooper Hibbs and Jack Gordon as well as wideout Tyler Young. (Arundel's other big deep threat, Aaron Lewis-Cenales, may be out of Friday's game with a concussion.)
