Fort Meade's July 4 Celebration Begins at Noon

The public is invited for a full day of festivities, culminating with fireworks after dark.

Fort Meade will host an all-day Fourth of July celebration, with activities including live music and fireworks at night. 

The festivities will be open to the public and get started at noon at McGlachlin Field.

Visitors can enter at the Reece Road gate by showing a valid driver's license or other identification. 

Baltimore radio station 106.5 FM and GEICO will sponsor games and prizes. There will be food vendors, and children are invited to hop on carnival rides and inflatables.

A fireworks show is scheduled for around 9:30 p.m. Fort Meade officials emphasize that any other use of fireworks, including sparklers, is prohibited on the installation. 

The weather forecast calls for temperatures in the low 90s, with a threat of isolated thunderstorms.
