Overview
Hear from professionals who have great influence and knowledge about the Odenton area community. Topics are to include public facilities whether vacant or occupied (dairy farm/vacant stores in Odenton shopping center), public school and up coming PARCC testing, public library, and issues of homelessness in our area.
Goals
Through online instruction, the local area will become informed and empowered to participate or initiate efforts to:
n Support our students for a change in standardized testing
n Develop a plan for the success of local business
n Support the local library in their phenomenal efforts toward creating a “universal design for instruction” for the disabled, or struggling learners, advanced learners, and average learners
n Support the homeless in the arenas of mental health, shelter, food,water, and social needs

Evaluation
One student from the group is to arrange a meeting at a given location. The evaluation of this course’s effectiveness will be based on the number of individuals of influence who attend. Materials
This course will be shared online

¡ Donate items for a “yard sale” (items will be free no money will be taken)
Milestones
Information
Learn about various influences surrounding commerce, education, and the needs of the homeless.
Assemble
Creatively come together with ideas to improve these situations.
Make a difference
Use ideas instilled from this course, the book, and assembly to make a difference in our local community.
