Gambrills Homicide Victim Identified By Police
Anne Arundel County Police have released the name of a man who was fatally shot at a Gambrills apartment complex Sunday.

GAMBRILLS, MD — Anne Arundel County Police on Tuesday released the name of a Gambrills man who was shot to death Sunday night near an apartment building. Police said Andrew Samir Mehany Kolta, 28, of the 1400 block of South Main Chapel Way in Gambrills, died from a gunshot wound. He was found by officers lying next to a vehicle in the parking lot.
Fire department personnel treated Kolta and took him to Baltimore Washington Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy determined Kolta’s cause of death was from gunshot wounds with the manner being homicide.
The shooting was reported about 11:35 p.m. in the parking lot of the Beacon at Waugh Chapel, 1435 South Main Chapel Way.

Investigators have not said if they have a suspect in the shooting or what circumstances led up to the incident. Homicide detectives talked to several witnesses at the scene.
