Gambrills Welcomes Tick And Mosquito-Fighting Business
A Maryland business will be expanding its reach into Gambrills while helping keep people safer from mosquitoes and ticks.
GAMBRILLS, MD — Summertime means ticks, mosquitoes and other creepy crawlers are on the move and not all of them are helpful insects. Backyard Bug Patrol, which covers Maryland and Virginia, recently announced that it will be helping homeowners and others battle back against ticks and mosquitoes in the Gambrills area, too.
Mosquitoes carry West Nile Virus, which is responsible for more than one million deaths each year around the world. Mosquitoes also are the cause of heart worm in dogs and Eastern equine encephalitis in horses. Ticks cause the debilitating Lyme disease and 30,000 cases are reported each year in the United States.
