GOIA Meets Tonight on Environmental Issues
The Greater Odenton Improvement Association will have a forum to discuss the issue of groundwater contamination.

The Greater Odenton Improvement Association will hold a meeting tonight to discuss the issue of environmental problems in and around the community.
The group is seeking to gather information about groundwater contamination from chemical plumes and fly ash in Odenton, Gambrills and Fort Meade.
The meeting is scheduled for tonight at 7 p.m. at the Odenton Volunteer Fire Department community hall. Invited guests include:

Bob Summers, acting secretary of the Maryland Department of the Environment.
Kerry Topovski, director of environmental health at the Anne Arundel County Department of Health.

Ron Bowen, director of the Anne Arundel County Department of Public Works
Lenny Siegel, executive director at the Center for Public Environmental Oversight
Paul Fluck, restoration manager, Fort Meade Environment Office

Environmental issues will also be on the agenda at Thursday night's meeting of the Fort Meade Restoration Advisory Board and at the Community Leaders Roundtable on Friday morning.
The Fort Meade RAB will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Captain Smathers Army Reserve Center on Annapolis Road between 20 1/2 Street and 21st Street. The Community Leaders Roundtable meets at 7:30 a.m. at the Bob Evans restaurant at 2402 Brandermill Blvd., Gambrills.
