M-Edge One of America's Fastest Growing Companies

The Odenton-based company, which makes accessories for e-book readers and smartphones, ranked 91st in the Inc. 500/5000 list.

A local company that makes covers and accessories for e-book readers has been named one of the fastest growing companies in America.

Odenton-based M-Edge is ranked 91st in the annual Inc. 500/5000 list, which tracks companies based on their revenue growth over the past three years.

The rankings appear in the September issue Inc. Magazine, which is on newsstands this week.

According to Inc., M-Edge had sales growth of 3,185.2 percent over three years. Revenue grew from $1.1 million in 2008 to $37.2 million in 2011.

M-Edge ranked 8th in the "Consumer Products and Services" category and second among companies in the Baltimore area. It employs 56 people, according to Inc.

"We are proud and humbled to have been included in this outstanding list," Patrick Mish, M-Edge's founder and CEO, said in a press release. "We would not be here today without the hard work, commitment, and dedication of the entire M-Edge team and the tremendous loyalty and opportunity our customers provide to us every day."

M-Edge is known for producing covers and sleeves for e-book readers and tablets, including the Amazon Kindle and Apple iPad. It also has branched out into accessories, including small book lights and sturdy covers for tablets and smartphones.

Its products are available at major outlets including Target, Walmart and Best Buy, as well as at Medgestore.com.

Meanwhile, another local company also made the list. Gasch Printing of Odenton ranked 4,067 out of 5,000, showing three-year revenue growth of 34 percent, based on 2011 revenue of $3.2 million.
