The board of Professional Therapists http://dhmh.maryland.gov/bopc/SitePages/Home.aspx are suppose to uphold the therapists in this state to what is ethical and what isn't. They are suppose to make sure that everyone practicing in this field has a license or certificate and that they are practicing within the laws they have set. But, they don't always do this and they are not there to protect the public but themselves. Take a look at their comar ethic rules and regulations which states sexual misconduct is unethical. They should be adding that it is also against the law and reporting them to the police but at this time we don't have a law for this. Let's make sure that this is a law and that we hold them accountable for their actions. Don't allow them to find their therapists and keep the money for themselves. Don't allow them to just allow therapists to surrender their license and not hold them accountable for their actions. Rape is rape by any name and they should be charged with it. Let's all speak out and make sure that this year they pass the law against therapist abuse and let's make sure they are held accountable for reporting every incident that they get a complaint about. They should not be allowed to do their own investigation and not get the police involved in this. Why do we have comar rules and regulations if the people that are there to uphold them aren't doing their job.
