HANOVER, MD — A Pennsylvania man staying at a Ramada motel in Hanover accidentally shot himself, then drove on his own to a Baltimore hospital for treatment. Anne Arundel County Police were called to Mercy Hospital in Baltimore early Wednesday morning to meet with the 35-year-old victim.

The injured man said the accident happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in his hotel room at the Ramada at 7253 Parkway Drive in Hanover. While he was alone in his room the victim told police he removed his holstered Ruger .380 handgun from his suitcase. As he took the weapon from the holster the firearm discharged, striking the victim in his finger.
