(Update) Man, Woman Charged With Attempted Murder In Odenton Shooting
Anne Arundel County Police have charged two Brooklyn residents in Odenton shooting; suspect's brother says she didn't know attack planned.
(Updated at 11:40 a.m.) ODENTON, MD — A man and a woman from Brooklyn have been arrested for a shooting in the 1300 block of Tenbrook Road in Odenton; the brother of the woman charged in the case said she was in the wrong place at the wrong time and didn't know what was planned. The victim is in serious but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma after he was shot Monday night at an Odenton residence, authorities say.
Anne Arundel County Police said they arrested Richard Brendoff, 41, and Sheyenne Potter, 20, on Wednesday afternoon in the Curtis Bay area of Baltimore City. They have both been charged with attempted first-degree murder and other weapons, and assault charges.
Authorities said the victim knows the suspects, who fled the area, and the shooting was not a random act of violence. The shooting victim was reported alert and conscious when police arrived Monday. The shooting happened about 6 p.m. Monday; officers found the injured man on the ground just outside the front door of the residence. He was suffering from a suspected gunshot wound to the body.

On the police department's Facebook page, user Nick Potter wrote Thursday morning that Potter is his sister and described her as a kind-hearted person who became involved with Brendoff, and he ruined her life. According to Maryland online court records, Brendoff has been charged and convicted multiple times dating back to 1992 on burglary, theft and weapons charges.
"She did not know of this incident was to occur at the time it happened she was basically wrong place at wrong time unfortunately but justice will be served and the truth will come out that she was not open and willing to take part in this situation," Nick Potter said on Facebook. "So don't always judge the person just off of something u see when the facts and investigation isn't even complete."
