I have been doing research to find out what states have a law about therapist abuse and what states don't. I can't share all of my research yet with you but going over it was very eye opening in the way that many states could care less if a therapist abuses their client. This is in the code of ethics in every state but they don't do anything about it when it happens. It is unethical to have a relationship with a client. Can you believe that at least half the states don't have this as a law? Can you believe that Maryland is one of those states that doesn't have it as a law?
Well, it started with one woman, as with many other states, and her name is Heather Sinclair. She came up with Lynette's Law for Maryland to try and protect other victims of this epidemic and has been fighting it ever since. She has several people that have come on board to help her fight it but without her they wouldn't know where to go with it. She has done her research, she has the drive to see it through, and she knows what it is all about. Read about her drive and what keeps her going here: http://www.lynetteslaw4maryland.com/ Help to keep the word going and the awareness on this by liking our page http://www.facebook.com/lynetteslaw4maryland or, you can share this article to help get the word out there.
